TWO COCK PHEASANTS & NUTELLA FOR THE TREE

If you were sold on the solid silver Marmite lids from a couple of Christmases past, these might hit the spot. Not quite the weighty hallmarked gesture that could accommodate a lifelong love affair with yeast extract, but charming nonetheless. Dinky-sized gilded tubs of everyone's favourite chocolate hazelnut spread. Not to be eaten, yet. Rather, decorations that add just the right amount of kitsch to temper the onslaught of baubles, ribbon and tinsel that most trees have to endure. The birds? They were teetering on the balcony of an apartment in Geneva, basking in the briskness of a morning where sub-zero temperatures yielded to brilliant sunshine. Camera shy? Anything but.
